A Reality Show for a Great Cause

McDonald’s and the Food Network created a new reality show where haute cuisine was used to serve a great cause. In the culinary challenge hosted by Donato de Santis, four young chefs from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico faced big challenges and their work was judged by a prestigious jury made up of celebrity chefs Danielle Dahoui and Álvaro Clavijo, as well as Ariel Gravano, our Executive Chef.

The winner of the television program was the Brazilian Raissa Ribeiro, who received 10 thousand dollars and the recognition of having her culinary creation put on the menu for sale. Her hamburger, the Prosciutto Melt, will be enjoyed for six weeks in more than 1500 restaurants in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico.

But that’s not all! To reinforce the Company’s commitment to the professional and educational development of young people in Latin America, part of the funds raised with the winning hamburger will be given to four NGOs from participating countries, which are working so that young people can have more opportunities in their future.

A truly great cause!

About the winner:

At the young age of 23, Raissa Ribeiro from São Paulo, is considered to be one of the rising culinary stars of Brazil. In 2017, she came 4th in the Masterchef Professionals competition, where not only was she praised by the chefs of the program, but she also thrilled an entire country. The other awards she has received in culinary competitions and her excellent relationship with her mentors gave her the opportunity to spend four months working at a restaurant with two Michelin stars. Raissa is hard-working and tenacious and believes that willpower and a hunger for learning have led her to where she is today.
