An unforgettable job experience

Having a job at Arcos Dorados offers the opportunity to combine work and study, project a great career while learning something new every day, both about business and life values. That’s how Pablo, Rogerio and Alberto, three workers from different branches and countries but having one thing in common, have experienced it: their first steps in the world of work took place behind the counter of our restaurants.

When he was 18, Pablo Jaimes, a future advertising designer, was attracted by McDonald’s success in his country and turned to them for his first job, motivated by the possibility of having a flexible work schedule to continue his studies. His dedication to work led him to the position of Restaurant Manager and the management knowledge he earned at the Company to start his own business.

“I worked for 16 years at McDonald’s, where I learned all of the Company’s processes and that the key to its magic and success lies in the people. Finding patterns of formal work that provide young people with access to the labor market is what McDonald’s does.”

Rogerio Venancio, Technical Service Manager for Latin America of an international company, also chose to work at Arcos Dorados when he was young. He began his career as a Crew member of a restaurant in São Paulo, Brazil.

“Thanks to my work of being in touch with customers, I was able to overcome my shyness and smile more. In addition, sharing my place of work with people of my age has been the source of great friendships that has marked my life forever.
At only 16 years old, I could not imagine for a moment what everything I was learning would bring me in terms of growth throughout my professional career. “

Alberto Chaia, from Mexico, worked at McDonald’s more than 20 years ago and is today a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company. For him, Arcos Dorados was not only a great professional experience, but also on his first day of work he met who would become later his current wife and with whom he has been married for 18 years and have formed a big family.

“I would summarize my learning in 3 relevant topics:
Team work, a key element for creating successful organization;,
No job is either too big or to small, all team members must do their share to make a project succeed,
We must have fun at work, love what we do, it is essential.”

Happy worker’s day!
